Military History Demonstrations July 1 - August 31, 2008
In order to commemorate the military presence and the importance of the militia troops for the defence of the colony during the 17th and 18th centuries, the colonial Militia, together with the Weider troop will put on a demonstration wearing historical military uniforms while firing weapons from that era.
The Colonial Militia of the Pierre Boucher Company will present the historical military demonstrations. This organization was created to remind the citizens of the importance of the Colonial Militia during the 17th century to protect them against the Iroquois. The Weider Troop was created in commemoration of the support of the artillery during the battles that took place during the mid 18th century. Between 8 and 10 presentations will be given in the Quebec area during the 400th anniversary celebrations. The main events will be the military parade, the Fête de la Nouvelle-France and the Concert au crepuscule in Lévis.
Canadian Forces Kiosk in the Canada Pavilion June 14 - September 1, 2008
In order to promote visitations of military establishments and events, the CF will have a booth located at Canada Place. Demonstrations and exhibitions of military activities and heritage will also be made available to the public.
At the heart of the Plains of Abraham, on the field next to the Martello Tour, the National Battle Fields Commission will erect a large tent where many activities and federal agencies will showcase Canadian history. 35 CBG will also have an information booth about the many aspects of the Canadian Forces.Concert under the Stars
The famous « Musique du Royal 22e Régiment » band will take your breath away during the 44th Edition of the Concert under the Stars.
The concert will be presented at La Citadelle de Québec on June 30, 2008 at 8:00 pm.
If it rains, the concert will be presented on July 2, 2008 at 8:00 pm at the same location.
