In 2008, Québec City is celebrating its 400th anniversary.

The history of Québec City began in 1608, on the shore of the St. Lawrence River, when Canada was only just becoming what it is today.

Québec City is one of the first meeting places between Canada's Aboriginals and Europeans and their cultures. It is the cradle of the civilization in North America.  And for all Canadians, the founding off Québec City also marks the founding of Canada.

This is why all Canadians are invited to celebrate Québec City's 400th anniversary.
