Stock up Le Don de Dieu for the great crossing to New France.

Welcome aboard, sailor! While I prepare the navigation charts, I want you to get my ship, Le Don de Dieu, ready.

With your help we will arrive at port on June 21, 1608 and we will found Québec City.

How to play

Here is the port and the supplies. You must plan the right quantity of supplies to bring onto Le Don de Dieu. Write your answers in the proper boxes on the printer-friendly version.

Be careful, if you overload the boat, we will sink!

Here are two clues to help you determine the right quantity for each item:

  • The crew consists of 12 sailors.
  • The amount of supplies must total 15.

Don’t forget barrels of water, because sea water is too salty.
  • Bag of flourBag of flour
Without flour, we have no bread, so there won’t be much food for the crew.
  • Wine bottleWine bottle
Wine! My men will be happy!
  • TrunkTrunk
Select well-cured dehydrated meat so that it will keep during the crossing.
  • Wooden crateWooden crate
Bring dried fruit, beans and nuts. We will need vitamins and iron.
